Daisy Buchanan is a character in The Great Gatsby. She is the wife of Tom Buchanan and serves as Gatsby's love interest. She is also the cousin of Nick Carraway, the novel narrator. ==Biography== Daisy Fay was born in 1899 to a wealthy family in Louisville, Kentucky. Like many women of the time, she married for money, particularly to Tom Buchanan. Daisy and Gatsby fell in love when he was a soldier, and she promised to wait for him when he went to fight in World War I, but a few years later, she married Tom Buchanan. The day before her marriage, she drank and she cried when she received Gatsby's letter, showing some regret, but the next day, she felt content about the marriage. == Personality == Daisy is characterized as a shallow, careless, and at times cheerful woman. However, she is neither as ignorant nor as fun-loving as she pretends to be. In reality, Daisy might be slightly misunderstood. She is stuck in a loveless marriage to her husband, Tom Buchanan, who regularly cheats on her with his mistress Myrtle Wilson, the wife of George B Wilson. == Films == * The Great Gatsby (1926) Played by Lois Wilson * The Great Gatsby (1949) Played by Betty Field * The Great Gatsby (1974) Played by Mia Farrow * The Great Gatsby (2000) Played by Mira Sorvino * The Great Gatsby (2013) Played by Carey Mulligan ==Gallery== <gallery> Great Gatsby-01037CMRr.JPG Great Gatsby-06148R.jpg Great Gatsby-06842r.JPG Great Gatsby-06918.JPG Great Gatsby-07356r.jpg Great Gatsby-08419.JPG Great Gatsby-12703.jpg Great Gatsby-FMFP-0130.jpg Great Gatsby-FMFP-0171.jpg Great Gatsby-FMFP-0187.jpg Great Gatsby-22844r.jpg Great Gatsby-FMFP-0261.jpg Great Gatsby-FMFP-0305.jpg 5169E807-3792-4604-8121-6A816A40C35D.jpeg 898434B0-AE1C-4CD4-A15A-5D5D0F50BD4A.jpeg </gallery>
